A Research Development Committee is an organizational body that oversees and supports research activities within an Institution.
Composition of the Committee
- Principal / Chair Person
- Research Coordinator
- Senior Faculty Members (subject experts)
- Junior Faculty Members (emerging researchers)
- External Research Advisors (if applicable)
- Student Representatives (graduate or postgraduate level)
- Ethical Review Board Member
- Administrative Support Staff
- IT Support Staff (for research tools and data management)
- Finance Officer (for research funding and budget management)
Objective :
To ensure the Quality, Integrity, and Ethical Conduct of Research Programme conducted within the organization
Functions
- Preparing and revising research policies and procedures of the Institution.
- Conducting periodic reviews and evaluations of research outcomes and impact.
- Ensuring the quality and integrity of research conducted within the institution.
- Giving guidance and assistance about research programmes, coursework, and examination to researchers.
- Fostering a culture of research excellence, promoting responsible and impactful research, and supporting the advancement of knowledge and innovation within the Institution.
Term : The Research Development Committee shall be reconstituted every three years except for the retirement and long leave of the staff.
Meetings : The Committee meets as and when required.
